How Can I Use Herbs in My Daily Life?

Isabell Shipard Recently I meet the wonderful herbalist and author Isabell Shipard who wrote How Can I Use Herbs in My Daily Life”.

I visited her herb farm on the sunshine coast last week, to see an incredible and vast myriad of herbs growing.

Yes much more than parsley, thyme, basil and the other usual suspects. Herbs are an important underutilized group of foods.

Herbs are a wonderful addition to meals, they taste great. Herbs bring an array of new flavours and textures to your foods; they also have amazing therapeutic properties.

Many foods that are grown in nutrient depleted soils don’t give us the essential nutrients our bodies need, the addition of herbs can assist with increase nutrients into the diet.

What you many not know is that herbs have naturally occurring phytochemicals; many of these chemicals have medicinal properties as well as a broad range of nutrients. Eg. Aspirin was derived from a herb and then altered in a lab, it was made from the willow bark tree.

What is really exciting is that many of these herbs will grow very easily at home in your own little herb garden or you can have a big herb garden. Growing your own plants you become self sufficient save some money as well as ensuring the quality of your own foods.

Because you grew it in your own organic soils, watered it, gave it love and picked it as you needed your herbs will be of a far greater source of nutrients and phytochemicals.

As a result of my visit to the herb farm I have secured copies of the book well below the normal retail price of $45 for only $37.95ea.

If you would like a copy to start creating amazing new taste sensations for you and your family
